Our Terrace

During the summer period, our terrace is opened for those who wish to eat outdoors calmly while remaining only at 2 minutes walking distance from the walking path of the Vieux-Longueuil

Our Menu

Our menu proposes more than 25 traditional Italian dishes. It consists of antipastis, fresh salads, pastas, risottos, meats, fishes, paninis, and coffees, to typical desserts as well as pizzas one more delicious than other.

Certainly all is cooked with, love and organic products, certain products can possibly suit a gluten free diet.

Pâtes fraiches à la putanesca

Ingrédients

  • 400 gr de spaghetti frais
  • 500 gr de tomates pelées
  • 3 gousses d’ail
  • 6 cuillères à soupe d’huile d’olive
  • 100 gr d’olives noires
  • 50 gr de câpres
  • 1 piment sec
  • 100 gr de morue fraiche
  • 1 bouquet de persil découpé grossièrement
  • Sel, poivre

Préparation

Emincez l’ail et le piment et couper le filet de morue en petits morceaux.

Dans une casserole, faites chauffer l’huile d’olive et faites revenir le tout pendant quelques minutes. Ajoutez les olives noires coupées en deux, les câpres et les tomates pelées, puis laissez mijoter 20 minutes à feu moyen.

Pendant ce temps, portez à ébullition une grande quantité d’eau salée et plongez-y les linguines. Egouttez-les al dente, mélangez-les à la sauce bien réduite et saupoudrez de persil frais. Servez chaud.

Bon à savoir/trucs et conseils/anecdote/histoire derrière la recette

Les spaghetti alla puttanesca (de l'italien signifiant littéralement en français « spaghetti à la putain ») sont un plat de pâtes traditionnel d’origine italienne. La recette semble être originaire de la région napolitaine, et plus particulièrement de l'île d'Ischia.

Plusieurs hypothèses entourent l’apparition de la recette. D’après l’Union professionnelle des fabricants italiens de pâtes, elle se répandit au cours des années 1960.

Une légende couramment répandue explique le nom légèrement scabreux de la recette (à la manière des putains) par le fait qu'elle était préparée par les prostituées napolitaines, soit pour attirer les clients par le parfum répandu, soit pour reconstituer leurs forces après coup.

WE PLANT FINE-HERBS!

While we cook we often use fine herbs whether it is for a dish with sauce, such as a beautiful homemade tomato sauce or a beautiful tomato salad and basil. Try it out, and compare how much you use of your package bought from the grocery store and how many leafs are going to get damaged in the refrigerator.

At the restaurant, we do not have this problem but at home, it's common practice.

Besides, there is nothing more easy to cultivate. A little earth, some water and the sun! And here you are with plants of:

  • Basil
  • Parsley
  • Sage
  • Chives
  • Celantro

When you buy them in bags, they are fast going to get damaged and lose their taste whereas if you plant them, you will always have fresh herbs handy. When the season comes to an end, you can make homemade pesto which you will put in Masson jars.

You will then take advantage of your homemade jars in winter season. You have unexpected visit in the middle of the week, no problem there is nothing better than pasta with pesto! Simple and fast but with good ingredients, it is a "best". A small recipe has a practice not to put under stress when unexpected visits arrive!
